-Witnessing in Austin-

A Night to Remember

It was 12:00AM, well after darkness had fallen in most of America, but on “6th Street” in downtown Austin, it was bright as day. Neon lights from the many bars glowed, as drunkards and sinners hurried from tavern to tavern, not really going anywhere. It was just another night to kill, and wake up with a hangover. Living in the pleasures of their own sin for this brief season, eternity couldn’t be farther from their minds. Yet there was one desparate cry to these people echoeing through the streets “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved!” Henry, “Hank”, Thompson’s mighty voice caused many a head to turn as he spouted out scripture after scripture on heaven, hell, salvation, damnation, love, justice, and Jesus, putting out none of his own words, knowing that the Word of the Lord would not return void.

Hank wasn’t alone, there was a small group of us taking turns preaching on the street, handing out tracts, and one on one witnessing to anyone who had ears to hear. We held up a sign with the message “Who Owns U?” which perked the interest of many a lost college student, and gave us opportunity to share the gospel with them. Our team of soulwinners stayed out from about 10:30PM-1:30AM, sharing the love of God with those who obviously were in desparate need. The obvious decadence displayed was enough to shock any Christian. Jesus said in Mathew 19:3 “for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Pray that the truth would be proclaimed to sinners, but when you get off your knees, put on your shoes.

Tracting in Fort Worth

September 29, A group of soulwinners met at Fairpark Baptist Church to go tracting. After a brief prayer time, we distributed tracts door to door in the Fort Worth area. Several hundred families had been reached with the gospel by the time we stopped around noon, just as the Texas heat started to kick in. Keep those who received the tracts in prayer, that the Holy Spirit would bring them under conviction and show them their need for a Savior.

Chalk Art

Please keep the Intermediate Chalk art class, meeting October 13, in prayer, we’re looking forward to the opportunities this will give our ministry. This is a class for those who are serious in continuing on with their chalk art skills.
